About
Zoe is a Chinese, new generation artistic producer, choreographer, and dance artist from Markham, Ontario, whose practice is rooted in Western contemporary dance forms and Qi- Gong. As an Artistic Producer and Choreographer, she has created full-length, immersive dance shows and site-specific festivals, presented in partnership with organizations in her community. Credits include Fractals of Possibilities (2026), Eternal Echoes (2024), and Carnival of the Arts (2023). She was also the Associate Producer and Choreographer for TOES FOR DANCE in their 2023 season, and has presented original works for HCA Society, the Arts Unionville Dance Program, Inspire North, Common Ground Dance Festival, Theatre Oculus’ Digital Creation Residency, Lisbon Dance Platform, Bloom Festival, and the fifth edition of Artists For Peace.
As a dance artist, Zoe has worked with artists including Michael Caldwell (Dusk Dances Tour 2022) and Colleen Snell (Frog in Hand), and has performed in festivals including Fall for Dance North (2020, 2021) and Festival Quartiers Danses (2023). While studying, she danced the works of established choreographers including Robert Desrosiers, Alysa Pires, Angela Blumberg, Alyssa Martin (Rockbottom Movement), Hanna Kiel (Human Body Expression), as well as Robert Glumbek and Roberto Campenella (ProArteDanza).
As a choreographer, Zoe’s goal is to create something powerful and emotionally gratifying for both dancers and audience members to enjoy. She was awarded the Lipson Family Endowment Award for the most promising emerging choreographer. Zoe was also the recipient of the Performance Dance: Highest CGPA award and the Orly Watkin Dance Award from Toronto Metropolitan University. Her choreographic work has been seen internationally and locally. Recently, Zoe brought her work Fractals of Possibilities to Hamilton, Ontario, where it was presented as part of Dances at the Bay 2026, commissioned by HCA Society. The work was originally presented in January 2026 in Markham, Ontario.
